Beginning in 2005, LINC provided 20 young leaders at a time with the opportunity to gain an international perspective on culture, youth leadership, and environmental development. Each exchange session saw youth from Bangladesh and the United States participate in a three week mutually reciprocal exchange, with students acting as both hosts and guests in their pursuit of greater international understanding. LINC followed up on exchange activities with a continued environmental service component, a major cross-cutting theme of all exchanges. The theme of the most recent exchange that took place in 2008 was 'Science, Technology and the Environment'. RI partnered with several local organizations to implement the LINC program.
