Relief International works to save lives, reduce human suffering and advance dignity for people affected by crisis.
That means providing safe, clean water after typhoons and shelter after earthquakes. Delivering food to communities trapped by conflict and medical attention to people stumbling across borders. It means keeping children safe and educated, even when their schools are destroyed. It means sticking around long enough to help communities build systems that will withstand the next disaster. And empowering them with the strength of their own resolve.
In fact, emergency and humanitarian response lie at the heart of our history. RI was created in response to the devastating 1990 earthquake in Iran, and we quickly established ourselves as a leading humanitarian agency in some of the world’s most disaster prone and fragile states.
Today, our programs span 19 countries in Africa, Asia and Middle East. We respond to both urgent and extended humanitarian crises. And work with communities to lay the groundwork for successful futures.
