Supporting Refugees in Suruç

More than 192,000 Syrians fled to Suruç, Turkey in late September 2014 following the assault on the Syrian town of Kobane. Many refugees had no choice but to find temporary shelter in empty garages, parks, stores and event halls throughout Suruç. Within days, RI and the Turkish government worked together to distribute food and essential, life-saving medicines to local health facilities. Non-food items such as blankets, household items and personal hygiene necessities were also distributed through local authorities in Suruç.
