Non-governmental organizations, or NGOs, work on issues such as refugee welfare, drug addict rehabilitation, education and community health. Relief International has teamed with 20 NGOs in Tehran and Khorasan Razavi to help them deliver effective, cost-efficient services. The training program evaluates each NGO's internal systems — their administrative, financial and program development functions – and offers management training. The program also addresses field operations, fundraising strategies, proposal writing and a host of other critical functions. At the end of the training, the NGOs develop and execute a plan for improvement and apply for small grants. Relief International follows the projects and helps the organizations implement the training. The program seeks to enable participating NGOs to better deliver services to the community and to build their governance skills.
