Supporting Educational and Psychosocial Needs of Refugees

In August 2015, RI launched a one-year education and child protection program in Gaziantep, Turkey to provide alternative education and psychosocial support to approximately 6,000 Syrian boys and girls ages 10 to 18. The program also refers these children to specialized services, such as formal education and case management. The children, many of whom have missed years of schooling due to the conflict, will be taught basic math, English, Turkish and science. RI also provides training in life skills and offers psychosocial support to help the children lead healthy, productive lives. The program is being implemented at three community centers in Gaziantep, Turkey.
