Overview
The conflict in neighboring Sudan is pushing Chad further into crisis. Insecurity at the border continues with over 1.25 million refugees and returnees arriving since 2023. Fleeing for their lives from violence and starvation, these communities desperately require humanitarian assistance. Needs, overcrowding, and the risk of disease continue to increase daily. Especially in Eastern Chad, vulnerable host communities are also being affected, with cross-border supply chains disrupted and prices of staple foods increasing sharply.
Relief International is operating a health center at the border in Tiné, where we are providing life-saving primary care. Among a range of essential services, we are treating gunshot wounds, assisting newborn deliveries, and providing immunizations as well as community-embedded mental health support.
