A message from our CEO

Dear friends,

Welcome to our 2022 Annual Report. In the following pages, you will learn more about the difference we have made together. You will read the stories and hear the voices of just some of the many hundreds of thousands of people we have been able to reach this year.

I was proud to join this outstanding organization in November 2022, and I remain just as excited now as I did then to lead this organization into the next era of its development.

The work that we do at Relief International could not be more timely or critical. In 2022, we witnessed an increase in global crises, while development organizations across the board were stretched to capacity.

Against this backdrop, Relief International stepped up our response and programmatic reach, delivering over 14 million vital services in 2022. Relief International is a formidable force for good, a dynamic and determined organization. We have seen time and again that positive impact is possible in the most challenging of circumstances.

Thank you for giving us your time, your commitment, and your support. We hope you will be impressed by what we have achieved together in 2022 and will continue to walk alongside us through 2023 and beyond.

When Crises Hit

Pakistan

The floods that submerged a third of Pakistan in August and September of 2022 were the worst in the country’s history; affecting over 33 million people, damaging 2.2 million homes, and disrupting access to water for 5.4 million people.

Determined to support the communities we work with, our staff jumped into action providing food, shelter, and mental
health and psycho-social support for those most impacted.

How Our Funds Are Spent

In 2022, we raised $157,339,912. 96.8% came from governments, 2.7% from income-earning projects, and 0.4% from individual donors.

Some donations were small. Some were large. All made a real difference in the lives of people living in the world’s most fragile settings.

We invested 91% of our funds in programs and services and 8% in management, with less than 1% dedicated to fundraising efforts.
