The Deputy Program Director (DCD), under the direct supervision of the Country Director, will be the senior leader in country for ensuring program quality and improvement in Sudan’s diverse and growing portfolio in health, nutrition, livelihoods and WASH. The DCD position provides a challenging opportunity to shape the RI portfolio and lead a dynamic team of expatriate and national staff. The successful candidate will thrive through implementing quality improvements, from data and beneficiary feedback, to a strong emphasis on innovation and novel programming.  Further, the DCD will have a unique opportunity to steward the growth of the $9 million Sudan portfolio at a time of increased need across RI’s operations in North, East Darfur and Blue Nile states.  The successful candidate will continue to professionalize systems and build the capacity of local and expatriate staff while supporting and engaging with the regional team to provide effective and holistic support to the country programs. The DCD will also develop RI’s networking capacity, engaging strategic partnership with INGOs and ensuring strong and key partnership with local organizations. Regional Director – Middle East

The role of the Regional Director (RD) will provide guidance, supervision and support to Country Directors and senior managers within the Middle East region.

 

Directly responsible for the overall regional and country strategic planning, successful program delivery and performance management of country programs within the region.  Additionally, have oversight of the program support operations (security, finance, HR, operations) and strengthening regional-level external relations and coordination. As a member of the RI’s global Leadership Team you will provide insight and guidance on global-level strategy, approach, systems effectiveness and improvements to help strengthen the alignment of senior management and the CEO with our work in the field.

Country Director

YEMEN

RI seeks a dynamic individual to lead a country program that has grown significantly over the past two years. During the first year, responsibilities include coordinating with humanitarian actors and donors and managing the scale-up of RI’s multi-sector emergency response programming, as well as the stabilization of WASH programming, with an emphasis on reinforcing RI’s operational systems, procedures, and structures.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day operational support, mentoring and strategic direction to the Yemen country program under the guidance and supervision of the Middle East Regional Director. He/She will be responsible for identifying needs and resources and elaborating program plans and proposals in line with Relief International’s national and global priorities, donor priorities, and in line with identified gaps in the overall response at national and district levels.

It will be essential for the Yemen Country Director to work simultaneously at both strategic and operational levels. He/she will play a significant role in program and proposal development, taking the lead in representing the organization with donors, obtaining funding, and identifying and pursuing new program opportunities. He/she will also manage the mobilization and effective scale up of innovative emergency and development programs, supervise program and support staff, as well as ensure that all relevant RI policies and procedures with respect to HR, safety and security, code of conduct, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures are in place, implemented and adhered to.
